Central Queensland Places

The Geography of Central Qld

I really love living in Central Queensland. What never ceases to surprise me, despite having spent 35+ years of my life between Yeppoon and Longreach, is that I keep finding new places to explore and things to do.

In this section of This Happy Planet, I want to build a comprehensive insight into the many cities, towns, and places in CQ – the geography, the people, the geopolitical – and especially some of the hidden gems that don’t always make it onto the tourist maps.

The list of places below is alphabetical, rather than by region, to mix things up and keep it fun. Also, bear in mind that this is a ‘living’ page, i.e. I’m constantly expanding it, so you will see a few placeholders here and there just to remind myself to finish certain pages.

I hope you enjoy the Central Queensland Places section of the site. At time of writing, the list is a bit coast-centric, but I have to begin somewhere 😊

If you enjoy this type of article, you can find more on the Central Queensland Places page. Feel free to leave any related comments at the end of this page.
